Meet our Founder

Hi, I'm Tami

My love of swimming began at a young age in the oceans of Hawaii.  I started teaching in 1974 and founded Makai Swim School in Napa, CA in 1989.  Now I'm bringing my Montessori-influenced expertise as a teacher and my longtime experience as a successful swim school owner to you.

One way I meet families' needs during school and holiday breaks is with camps. Our swim camps are always full with large waitlists, and increase weekly revenue by $6K on average! 

I created these fun, user-friendly swim camp kits for Makai’s use, and am pleased to offer them to other swim school owners so you can benefit from my 40+ years of experience.
