Payment is due before the first meeting of the session for participation in Lessons, Open Swim, and Camps. All clients must have an iClassPro account in order to register. We accept credit/debit cards ONLY.
Payments and tuition are non-refundable. If Makai Swim School cancels enrollment for any reason your account will be credited for the cancellation. Credits will post to your iClassPro account and may be used at a later date; credits do not expire and can be used for any future tuition and/or fees.
An annual family registration / anniversary fee of $30 is due upon initial registration.
Latch Instructions:
1. Press any button on the large Latch intercom.
2. Press the bottom button to scroll to swim school.
3. Press the right green button to call swim school.
4. Once Makai Swim School answers, please give swimmer's name and we will open the gate remotely.

All Makai clients MUST park on Elm Street, unless you use an ADA placard or have special needs. The Congregation parking lot is reserved for Congregation Members only. Congregation Beth Shalom can and will tow non-member vehicles.
The pool entrance is located behind the Congregation, past the play structure. You must check in with the pool attendant upon arrival for Swimming Lessons, Open Swim, and Camps.

You MUST opt in to the email and text option in your iclasspro account to receive important communication about your lessons or pool closures. iclasspro is our main form of communication. If you are not opted into email and/or texts, you will not receive any updates or communications from us.
Makai Swim School has a minimum enrollment requirement for each class. If the class you signed up for does not reach the minimum number of required enrollments, we will reach out to you at least one week before the session starts to facilitate a transfer to another class.
Upon check in, swim lesson students will receive a colored stamp on their hand and parents/caregivers will receive a Water Watcher Tag with a colored wristband that matches your swimmer’s stamp. Students must then wait with parents/caregivers until they are called to the pool. (Parent-Baby participants are exempt from our Water Watcher Tag Policy).

Water Watcher Tag Instructions for Swim Lessons:
1. When you check in with our Makai Swim Pool Attendant, your swimmer will receive a colored stamp on their hand and you will receive a Water Watcher Tag with a wristband that is the same color as your swimmer's stamp.
2. Now that you have your Water Watcher Tag it is your responsibility to ensure your swimmer is safe and accounted for while you wait for your swimmer to be called to their lesson.
3. When your swimmer is called to their lesson by Makai Swim Staff, please accompany your swimmer to the side of the pool and bring your Water Watcher Tag.
4. Your swimmer will sit on their colored dot painted on the ledge of the pool (the same color as the stamp on their hand and your Water Watcher Tag wristband). You MUST wait with your swimmer while they sit on their colored dot until a Makai Swim School staff member collects your Water Watcher Tag.
5. If our Makai Swim School staff member has collected your Water Watcher Tag you may go back to your lounge chair or table to watch your child's lesson.
* We use this Water Watcher Tag system to ensure our swimmers are always accounted for and safely being supervised whether it is by a parent/caregiver or our Makai Swim School Staff members. *
Please refrain from engaging with your child during their lesson, this confuses them on who is in charge and does not allow for trust to build between instructor and student. If you feel you need to intervene, please check with the Deck Supervisor first.

Photo and Video Release
Photos and/or videos taken by Makai Swim School may be used for advertising and social media purposes.
No personal information or names of clients will ever be released without expressed written notice.
If you choose to use sunscreen it must be applied at least 20 minutes prior to entrance of the pool otherwise is simply washes off in the pool. If you are unable to put sunscreen on within the 20-minute set in period, then the swimmer will need to swim without sunscreen. UV Shirts are suggested.
Only one changing room will be open. The changing rooms are Family / Co-ed and individual stalls are provided.
Restrooms are designated Boys or Girls.
All swimmers must shower at the pool before entering the water.
Swimmers with long hair must have their hair secured in a ponytail. Swim caps are recommended and may be purchased at the pool or through our website.
ALL CHILDREN UNDER 3YRS are required to wear the Happy Swim Diaper with a second layer disposable swimmer diaper, OR the Happy Nappy Duo (built-in double layer) UNLESS YOUR SWIMMER IS FULLY POTTY TRAINED.
The Happy Nappy Duo is designed to capture and kill the cryptosporidium bacteria which other diapers do not.
Fecal accidents in the pool will cause unhealthy water and will cause the pool to close for several hours per Napa County Health Requirement.
The pool will close for some of the following reasons: lightning/thunder, equipment failure, fecal matter, lack of attendance, poor air quality, or any reason mandated by County Health Officials.
Opt-in to email and text in your iClassPro account to be informed of such unexpected closures.
Your account will be credited for lessons, camps, or open swim appointments cancelled by Makai Swim School.
We will swim, rain or shine.
Your account will not be credited for expected scheduled closures.
