Harriet Plummer Aquatic School (HPAS) has been a cherished part of the Lamorinda community since 1979, offering private swim lessons for children ages 3–10—from first-time swimmers to those refining competitive strokes. In 2019, siblings Kristian Lupinski and Nate Burns proudly took over the school, continuing the legacy of their mother, Harriet Plummer Burns.
With a strong focus on nurturing each child’s confidence and skill in the water, HPAS provides exceptional aquatic education in a warm, supportive environment. The school is especially known for its expertise in teaching neurodivergent children and those with a variety of special needs, ensuring that every swimmer receives instruction tailored to their individual abilities.
HPAS offers year-round swimming, which is essential for consistent development and lasting progress in the water—helping children build not just skills, but a lifelong love for swimming.
